The first draft of my next book is done!  This is the story that came to me with such urgency and demanded to be written.  If it hadn’t been for the distractions of the Christmas holiday and the release of CRIMSON AND CLOVER in February I probably would have finished it long before now.

It is a first draft, though, and that means it has its problems.  But that’s what editing is for, and editing is exactly what I’m doing now.  My critique group has read the bulk of the book, and one beta reader has bravely read the entire thing, so their input, as always, is invaluable to me in this process.  I’m really looking forward to it, though, because I totally love this book and can’t wait for you to read it, too!
Since I’m so excited about it, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite lines from the book.  Enjoy!
  • It didn’t help that he looked like he’d gotten up that morning and thought, “How can I dress to drive Athena completely crazy today?”

  • “Goodnight,” she called after him.  As the door closed behind him, she added in the same sweet sing-song voice, “I hope you get a venereal disease.”
  • With a terrified shriek, she beat on her leg while performing a stunning rendition of the Oh-My-God-There’s-Something-On-Me dance.

I hope to have it polished and submitted it to the publisher in the next couple of weeks, and I have my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to tell you more about when you can read it in the next few months.

Until then, I’d love it if you want to check out CRIMSON AND CLOVER! You can find a new sneak peek of it here, and if you like it there are links to the right where you can buy it. If you do, tell me what you think. I love hearing from you!
